March 2008

GREETINGS,

I apologize to the membership for my absence at the March meeting but I guarantee that you will be glad I didn’t come and share the cold that I was fighting! My thanks go out to Gaylord for running the meeting in my absence.

There is “Strength in Numbers” and right now we need the strength represented by our division in a concentrated effort to sway the Governor into NOT signing an emergency order that will temporarily block the use of the 2008 NEC for 1, 2, and 3 family dwelling installations. All indications that I have seen so far lead me to believe that this will be on his desk for a signature all too soon. I want to implore each of you as members of the Southwest Division to take a moment to contact the Honorable Ted Strickland at the link provided below to let him know that the issues with the Ohio Home Builders is not one that has the safety of Ohio residents in mind. If he hears from enough of us backing the obvious safety benefits that are provided by the continued use of the 2008 NEC it might be enough to help him see that this would not be the right move for the residents of our state.

Here’s the link: http://apps.das.ohio.gov/govpublic/contact.aspx

Simply enter this link in your address bar, fill out the form and at the bottom is a space for you to enter the wording that you feel will make an impact. It’s time for us to “shine” we need to let everyone know that when it comes to electrical safety we are at the top of our game!!

See you in April!

Pete
